The distance portfolio of the fourth bicycle race will be added with a new distance of 57 km. It is different from others by the access to the race allowed only for the participants with road bikes. The distance is for those, who participated in the previous bicycle race – for men (finishing time less than 1 hour 10 minutes) and women (less than 1 hour 20 minutes).
“We expect 1,000 people to toe the starting line of Tour of World Class Almaty-2017. They will come not only from Kazakhstan, but also from abroad. For four years of the bicycle race, the participants have come from Kyrgyzstan, Russia, Germany, Ukraine, USA, Japan, Netherlands, Italy, Israel and Turkey,” Saltanat Kazybayeva, Director of the Almaty Marathon said.
In order to participate in the bicycle race, you should register on the website of the Almaty Marathon, pay the entry fee (between 2,000 and 5,000 Tenge, depending on the distance) and come to the distribution center on August 16 – 17 in order to get your starting pack of the participant at: 89/2 Nauryzbay Batyr Street.
The professional race for amateurs Tour of World Class Almaty has become one of the most eagerly awaited bicycle races of the year. The organizers introduce some innovations every year. In 2016, it was a children’s distance (14 km); this year it is the 57-km distance. The route of the major distance of 30 km has been changed and increased by 4 km. The bicycle race will be traditionally supported by the permanent drinking partner As’u. Ambulances will ensure the safety along the route. The bicycle race partner is MEGA Alma-Ata SRC, where the start camp and the finish camp will be located.
“I am happy to take part in the race. This year I believe there will be a serious struggle on the new distance. I don’t know what time I’ll show. Participating and doing my best are the most important things to me. Looking at the participants, I noticed that more and more people started riding a bike in the city. I am particularly pleased with the fact that parents engage their children in the completion by their own example,” professional bicycle racer and coach Maxim Iglinskiy said.
Tour of World Class Almaty bicycle race will be supported by Almaty Akimat; it will take place on the Sports Day celebrated in Kazakhstan every third Sunday of August.
