The Almaty Marathon is the most ambitious running event in Central Asia, uniting thousands of running fans with its social mission to promote healthy habits in society, popularise sports and prove the fact that any sport is quite affordable and in demand. In 2024, the marathon will be held for the 13th time and bring together over 15,000 runners.
The Almaty Marathon is a member of the Association of International Marathons and Distance Races (AIMS) and its tracks are certified in compliance with the World Athletics standards.
The 10-km Kazakhstan Championship among participants aged over 35 will take place as part of the Marathon.

Distances: 42.2 km, 21.1-km, 10 km, 10-km Nordic Walking, Ekiden Team Relay.

Registration will be closed on 16 September 2024 or when the number of participants will reach 15,600 people, including 100 Ekiden teams.

42.2 km – 12,500 KZT
21.1 km – 12,000 KZT
10 km – 12,000 KZT
10-km Nordic Walking – 10,000 KZT
Ekiden (6 members in a team) – 216,000 KZT. At least one female member is mandatory for a team to participate in the Ekiden Team Relay.
An important part of the marathon’s mission is charity. A portion of the proceeds generated by entry fees is annually donated to help children with special needs. For all these years, the marathon has implemented more than 30 charitable projects in Almaty and Almaty Region thanks to the support of its participants and partners. Age Categories:
42.2 km – 18-24, 25-29, 30-39, 40-49, 50-59, 60-69, 70+
21.1 km – 18+ years old,
10 km – 15-17, 18+ years old, (35-39, 40-49, 50-59, 60-69, 70+ MASTERS)
10-km Nordic Walking – 15+ years old,
Ekiden – 15+ years old.
Overall winners for the 42.2-km and 21.1-km distances will be awarded cash vouchers, medals, diplomas and valuable prizes.
Winners in age categories for the 42.2-km distance will be awarded medals, diplomas and valuable prizes.
Ekiden winners will be awarded cash vouchers, diplomas, cups and valuable prizes.
All finishers will receive commemorative medals.
Starter kits will be distributed at the following address: Almaty, 29/3 Satpayev Street, Central Stadium “Zapasnoye Pole” at 10:00–20:00 on 27–28 September 2024.
