On April 22, the most grandiose running event in Central Asia - the Almaty Marathon will take place. More than 14 thousand sports fans will be at the start and run through the main streets of the city.
Among them 700 young athletes aged 10 to 14 years old will run the distance of 3 km at the Almaty Marathon. This year, the participants who did not have opportunity to pay the registration fee were supported by the partners of the event. Thus, about 100 children will run thanks to the support of the National Olympic Committee (NOC).
All young athletes who are supported by the NOC will participate in the Almaty Marathon under the auspices of the Asian Games -2018, which will be held from August 18 to September 2, 2018 in Indonesia.
Children aged 10 to 14 years old will take part in the children’s distance for 3 km. The first 30 finishers from the NOC team will be awarded with commemorative medals by the representatives of the Olympic Council of Asia, all participants will receive OCA certificates.
