Two weeks upon completion of the Almaty Marathon 2022, “Courage to be the First” Corporate Fund commenced construction of sports facilities for three institutions. Five institutions were selected this year to implement charitable goals.

This year beneficiaries of the Almaty Marathon are:

  • Regional Special Boarding School for Children with Intellectual Disabilities in Kaskelen
  • Almaty Regional Boarding School of Sanatorium Type in Talgar
  • Orphanage “Solnyshko” under Radonezh Corporate Fund
  • NGO “Thanks Doctors”
  • Socially Inclusive Project “Maxim's Eleven”

Construction works have been commenced at the Regional Special Boarding School for Children with Intellectual Disabilities in Kaskelen that requested to build a sports ground on its territory; at the Almaty Regional Boarding School of Sanatorium Type in Talgar, where “Courage to be the First” Corporate Fund will build a sports ground and a volleyball field; and at Orphanage “Solnyshko” that requested to build a football field and a race track for its orphans.

Sports facilities in these institutions are built to encourage children to live a healthy lifestyle, to provide assistance in treatment and rehabilitation of various diseases. For 10 years, the Corporate Fund has implemented over 20 large projects for rehabilitation and sports promotion among children.

The Almaty Marathon plans this year to provide charitable support for over 45 million KZT as may be requested by the institutions. By tradition, it will be “Courage to be the First” Corporate Fund itself, who will control the entire construction and equipment purchasing processes for the sports infrastructure.

For reference: the Almaty Marathon is a sports event pursuing the charity as one of its goals. Every year, the Almaty Marathon spends a portion of the funds generated by registration fees from the Almaty Marathon on sports infrastructure for children with special needs. Last year charitable assistance totaled to 40,000,000 KZT.
