Summer race in the centre of Almaty!
On July 14, next racing competition - Summer race will take place in the territory of the “Atakent” exhibition center. 1000 sports fans aged 10 years and over will take part in it. Seasonal races are held in the framework of the preparation for the biggest running event in Central Asia – the Almaty Marathon.
“In summer, all favourable conditions for sports are created in Almaty. If you go outdoors in early morning or late evening, you can get a great pleasure from jogging in the city that has cooled down after the heat. And if you finish running by doing exercises at the sports ground, you will get a full training the same as in the gym. As a result of our activities, people spend more time in the open air, go to fitness-club, keep fit and strengthen their health. Being healthy and sporty is trendy nowadays. In addition, when your body is healthy, you feel yourself better, gain self-confidence and the attitude towards many things changes”, - comments Saltanat Kazybayeva, the Director of the Almaty Marathon.
For the participants of the Summer race two distances are prepared: 12 km (runners from 15 years are allowed) and children’s distance of 3 km (10-14 years). Awarding will take place by age categories: in 12 km they are divided into three groups – 15-34 years old, 35-49 years old and 50+ years old; in 3 km – 10-14 years old.
Registration is already open on the website http://www.almaty-marathon.kz/ru/ and will be available till Juky 6 or untill the maximum number of participants reaches 1000 people. The Organizing Committee draws attention to the fact that registration without payment does not guarantee participation. The cost of participation: 12 km – 3000 KZT, 3 km – 1000 KZT
The first start is planned for children at 8.30 am, at 9.00 participants of 12 km distance start running.
«Undoubtedly, running in the summer has its own specifities»,- Nikita Fedotovskikh, the instructor at the school of cyclical sports shares some advice. Nikita led open trainings before Almaty Marathon 2018. «It is highly recommended not to run at the hottest time of the day. And the best option is running in the morning or in the evening taking with you a bottle of water. Try to choose parks or alleys along the river, avoid motorways – green trees and water will refresh and soften the heat from the asphalt and houses. »
Pay attention to the outfit – it should be light clothing for the weather, necessarily breathable, for instance, from a special fabric for sportswear, and do not forget about headdress. If the Sun has not gone beyond the horizon, take care of your skin protection. Use spray or sunblock.
Most importantly, be patient. If you haven’t run in hot weather or never have run before, it might seem difficult, and you might want to give up. Get over yourself a couple of times and, perhaps very soon, running will become an indispensable part of your life.
For all those who wish to take part and who don’t know how to start running properly or don’t want to run alone, the Almaty Marathon has resumed open trainings with professional instructor on a special program in the Park of the First President every Saturday at 10.00 am. Participation in the trainings is free.
