The Organizing Committee of the city running event – Winter Run 2023 – is pleased to inform residents and guests of the southern capital about partial closure of some roads on the day of the run.
The run will start at Nurly Tau Business Centre from where its participants will start running along Al-Farabi Avenue to Gagarin Avenue, where they will then turn back to Nurly-Tau. There are 3 distances available for sports fans – 10-km distance, 7-km Nordic Walking and 3-km run for children.
Traffic on the northern side of Al-Farabi Avenue, from Nazarbayev Avenue to Zheltoksan Street, will be blocked from 04:00 to 12:00. The tunnel along Al-Farabi Avenue, from Mendikulov Street, will be blocked from 04:00 to 12:00.
The southern side of Al-Farabi Avenue will be open and free for vehicle traffic.
All the arrangements are made taking into consideration the rational distribution of time during participants movement.

Registration for the Winter Run 2023 was available at almaty-marathon.kz. Anyone could take part. The participation fee was 7,000 KZT for the 10-km distance and 7-km Nordic Walking, and 5,000 KZT for the 3-km children’s run. Registration was closed on 16 February.
All runners who pass the distance will receive a finisher’s medal. Three winners among girls and boys in the 3-km distance and winners in the 10-km distance in age categories will be awarded medals, diplomas and gifts from our partners. Winners among women and men in the 10-km distance in overall standings will be awarded cash vouchers in addition to the main gifts.
In 2023, “Courage to be the First” Corporate Fund plans to arrange its traditional competitions. They are seasonal races Winter Run, Summer Run and City Run, Almaty Half Marathon and the most anticipated event of the year – Almaty Marathon, and some others.
