Almaty Copa Run: quick runs at Central Stadium

On 16 March 2025, a traditional short- and medium-distance race – Almaty Copa Run – will take place at the Central Stadium (Abaya Avenue), Almaty. This year, runners will be offered a relay race as well. The run will bring together 700 runners aged over 18.

This annual event offers athletes to try distances of 100, 1 000 and 3 000 metres. Each participant  may run two or more distances if trained appropriately. Furthermore, this year the Almaty Copa Run Relay will be held for fans of team races for the first time. 

 “Courage to be the First” Corporate Fund, which is an organiser of the Almaty Copa Run, unites runners through a series of running amateur races.

“For several years in a row we have received positive feedback from short- and medium-distance runners.  Last year we offered the most spectacular distances of 100,  1 000 and 3 000 metres, but this year we added the Almaty Copa Run Relay for teams of four people,” said Saltanat Kazybayeva, Executive Director at “Courage to be the First” Corporate Fund. “We’re expecting new records from like-minded people at the runners’ favourite Central Stadium. It’s going to be a really special running event". 

All Almaty Copa Run participants who pass the distance will receive a commemorative finisher’s medal. Winners and prize-winners in different age categories among men and women will be awarded unique medals and certificates of merit.

Only teams of 4 members (at least one woman) may join the Almaty Copa Run Relay. The first member runs 800 metres, the second one — 400 metres, the third one — 200 metres and the fourth one — 100 metres. Cash prizes of 250 000, 150 000 and 100 000 KZT will be provided for the first three places. 

Registration is open at almaty-marathon.kz. Participation fee for individual runners make up 8 000 KZT, for relay runners – 30 000 KZT. Registration will be closed on 3 March or when the number of participants will reach 700 people.
