On 28 September, the Almaty Marathon took place for the fourteenth time. The mother and child room was arranged in the start and finish area, and the ladies’ rooms were furnished with the hygienic kits. These novelties became a part of “Courage to be the First” Corporate Fund’s strategy for the promotion of the women’s participation in the marathons.
It appeared challenging to be a running mom, especially with a baby. With a new special mother and child room arranged, the Almaty Marathon supported the active women and facilitated the participation in the Marathon with the children. It was furnished with all necessary essentials: two baby changing tables, armchair for feeding with a screen for comfortable privacy, free nappies, napkins and diapers, balls and internal branding for cosiness and event feel.

“A growing number of women participates in Almaty Marathon with every year passing, and we would like every woman to have an opportunity for the maximum comfortable and safe running. Last year, 6390 women registered, and this year, 7111 women have registered, and it is 44.4 percent of the participants. May every woman achieve her goal, and we took care about arranging the conditions”, noticed Saltanat Kazybayeva, Race Director of the Almaty Marathon, Co-Founder of Trigada Women Running Community.
The special ladies’ rooms with the additional personal hygiene means have been arranged in the Marathon’s camp as well. Every participant of the Almaty Marathon could run comfortably and make use of the hygienic liners and tampons, if necessary.

Let us recall that the Almaty Marathon is the largest running event in Central Asia, within the framework of which over 30 charity projects to the amount exceeding KZT 300 mln. has been implemented since 2012. The fourteenth Marathon hosted over 16,000 participants from 60 countries. Two new records have been set even before the start: the number of foreign runners has exceeded 1,300 people, and 1,500 participants have registered for a 42.2-km marathon.
